MUSICAL CELEBRATION

Zhang, a Van Cliburn winner at 19 and Shanghai Symphony Artist-in-Residence for the 13-14 season, will play The Piano Concerto in A minor, Op. 16, composed by Edvard Grieg (1843–1907) at the Celebrate Asia concert in Seattle on Friday, March 19.

Celebrate Asia is presented as part of the Seattle Symphony's New Music WORKS initiative, which is supported in part by a grant from the National Endowment for the Arts. it explores the diverse musical traditions of Asia in a spectacular East-meets-West event. This year's program features the cultures of China, Vietnam and Japan.
