WIC: Sharing an interconnected future
?
Guests and participants of the World Internet Conference shared their thoughts positive feedback about the three-day conference with China Daily Online on Thursday in Wuzhen, Zhejiang province.
"China has more than 600 million people on the Internet, no global system can claim to govern the Internet without China's full participation. So the fact is China is engaged, China is willing to work on different layers and different levels of government. It's very positive," said Fadi Chehade, President of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers.
According to Chehade, ICANN is very delighted by the Chinese government’s position and continual openness.
"Mr Lu Wei, the minister of Cyberspace Administration of China, came to London at the ICANN conference, and said clearly, equivalently that China is for one world, one Internet," said Chehade. “These are powerful words coming from a leader who is showing vision and reflecting a new China that sees Internet as a platform not just for China but for world to exchange ideas, to exchange products and services."
