Erdenebat is in China to attend the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, which is scheduled to take place from Sunday to Monday.
The two sides should deepen mutual trust and make sure the development of the relationship does not drift away from the track, Xi said.
The countries should also accelerate the feasibility study into a bilateral free trade area and their cross-border economic cooperation, and expand cooperation in various fields, including mineral and major energy projects, infrastructure and connectivity, Xi said.
Cooperation should be enriched in areas such as youth, media and localities to boost the friendship and mutual trust between the two peoples, Xi said.
