In 2013, the Latin America edition of China Daily was launched in Sao Paulo to serve readers of the region－a milestone for China's national English-language newspaper.

China Daily's Focus series is a well-known brand among Chinese photographers since its debut in 2003 when it focused on the SARS epidemic.

The series began to expand overseas in 2015 when it focused on Canada. In 2016, a similar album on Russia was released.
