Translators urged to help boost China's links with the world
A forum on Language Service for the Belt and Road Initiative and the Translators Association of China Annual Conference 2017 was held in Xinjiang Plaza, Beijing, over Dec 1-2.
This year's theme of TAC annual conference was language services as building blocks for the Belt and Road Initiative.
Zhang Fuhai, president of China International Publishing Group, said that Chinese translators should build the bridge to connect China to the world to serve the Belt and Road Initiative, and enhance cultural and economic exchanges between China and the rest of the world.
Zhou Mingwei, president of Translators Association of China, said the TAC needs to train more professional translators and push for deep integration of the internet, data and artificial intelligence translation.
At the conference, industry standards and specifications were released, and a platform for maintaining professional and business integrity in the industry was also launched.
Seminars, training sessions, and a job fair for language professionals were held at the forum. A demonstration of innovative products was also held.
