If National Treasures Could Talk, a new documentary on Chinese artifacts to be aired on China Central Television from Jan 1, will amaze audiences with the brilliance of some of the country's best artifacts in five minutes.

The first season of 25 episodes, to be broadcast daily on CCTV's documentary channel, highlights one top artifact each episode and also introduces other objects with similar cultural and historic significance.

These featured objects are in the collections of more than 16 museums and cultural institutions across the nation.

The documentary is a collaboration between the State Administration of Cultural Heritage and CCTV. There will be 100 episodes altogether, over four seasons.
