China says foreign direct investment up 7.9% in 2017

BEIJING - Foreign direct investment (FDI) into the Chinese mainland rose 7.9 percent year-on-year to 877.56 billion yuan ($136.33 billion), the Ministry of Commerce said Tuesday.
In December, the country's FDI stood at 73.94 billion yuan, down 9.2 percent from the same period a year ago.
