Spring Festival Memories of China and Scotland

In 2002, walking through the extensive grounds of the Temple of Heaven I came upon colourful live displays including a lion dance. Along the raised Danbi Bridge running south from the Gate of the Prayer for Good Harvest, many performers adorned in golden yellow or crimson red costumes danced and acted out a series of movements with a background of the highly symbolic structures of the temple where again sacrifice once formed part of the ritual.
More memories to follow in a later feature.
