Beijing's popular restaurant brand TRB Hospitality Group is making waves these days.
TRB Hospitality unveiled the newly developed casual dining concept — Hulu, with the first venue of the brand opening in the city's Sanlitun area on Feb 12.
Now, Michelin-starred Dutch chef Wilco Berends is serving as a guest chef at TRB Forbidden City, an eatery alongside the former imperial palace's eastern moat that offers contemporary European cuisine. Berends, who is from the Netherlands, is going to present food at the restaurant over March 2-4 to highlight the Dutch gastronomy.
A four-course lunch is priced at 488 yuan ($77) and a five-course dinner will cost 688 yuan, both inclusive of wine pairing and are subjected to 15 percent service charge.
Berends was trained at some of top restaurants such as Merlet and De Hoefslag in the Netherlands, Scholteshof in Belgium, and at L'Escargot in London, where he was guided by British chef Marco Pierre White. Berends is now the chef-owner of the Dutch restaurant De Nederlanden in Vreeland.
