Duchess of Cambridge gives birth to third child

The news of the latest addition to the royal family comes less than a month before the duke’s brother, Prince Harry, is due to marry Meghan Markle at Windsor Castle on May 19.

It is thought that, after the couple’s engagement was announced in November, their wedding date was set to allow time for the baby to be born first.

The new prince, as yet unnamed, will be behind Prince Charles, the Duke of Cambridge, Prince George, and Princess Charlotte in line for the throne.

Prince George turns five on July 22 and his sister Charlotte will be three on May 2.
