Russia held a military parade marking the 73rd anniversary of the victory over Nazi Germany in World War II.

The annual military parade on the Red Square involved more than 13,000 troops, 159 pieces of military equipment and 75 aircraft this year. Many citizens in Moscow gathered in the street to watch the broadcast of the parade and cheered.

Russia is open to dialogue with other countries in order to maintain global peace and stability in the world, Russian President Vladimir Putin said Wednesday at the parade.

Russia is ready for a constructive and equal partnership for the sake of global harmony, peace and progress, Putin said.

"This is a holiday which has always been, is now, and always will be sacred for every family," Putin said, greeting a watching crowd including veterans decked out in medals on a bright sunny morning.

Among the more than 70 aircraft was a pair of Sukhoi Su-57 stealth fighter jets. Besides, the Kinzhal hypersonic missile, which was revealed earlier this year, carried by the MiG-31 supersonic interceptor fighter, also made its debut this year.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was among those invited to watch the military parade.
