Li calls for cooperation with Ghana in human resources, agriculture
Premier Li Keqiang called on Saturday to promote cooperation in production capacity, human resources, agriculture and fishery with Ghana.
He spoke when meeting with the visiting Ghana President Nana Akufo-Addo, who came to Beijing for a state visit and to participate in the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation.
Ghana is an influential nation in western Africa and a vital partner for China on the continent, Li said. President Xi Jinping held a productive meeting with Akufo-Addo to plan for the future development of bilateral relations, he said.
China would like to work with the African partner in consolidating the promising momentum for a comprehensive and fast development of bilateral cooperation, Li said.
Li also called on Ghana to improve its legislation and create a more fair environment for investment and businesses.
Akufo-Addo said Ghana has benefited a lot from its cooperation with China, and both countries have strongly promoted infrastructure, including highways, railways and telecommunications. Ghana is ready to sign a bilateral investment treaty with China as soon as possible to bring relations to a higher level, he added.
