The 14th episode of China Daily website's original short video series Poetry Moment is finally here! Our guest Zhang Jingchu is known for her elegant appearance and terrific acting skills. She represents well the qualities of peacefulness and tranquility in her name.

The poem Zhang is reading this episode is Tagore’s Let Life Be Beautiful Like Summer Flowers from his poem collection Stray Birds. The topic of the collection is life and death, and the mind’s need to face ups and downs in life. Having read the Chinese version, Zhang Jingchu went through the English version while filming this episode.

“I believe I am. Born as the bright summer flowers. Do not withered undefeated fiery demon rule. I believe I am. Died as the quiet beauty of autumn leaves. Sheng is not chaos, smoke gesture.”

Five peaceful yet powerful poems were read in Zhang Jingchu’s fluent English. The English version of Let Life Be Beautiful Like Summer Flowers is a must-hear!
