Half marathon kicks off in Chongli
Roughly 5,000 runners joined a half marathon in northern Hebei province's Chongli district on September 23.
The event was a joint effort between the Chongli government and the Chinese Athletic Association.
Hasi Chaolu won the men’s race with one hour, 18 minutes and 17 seconds, and Li Hongying topped the female’s category with one hour, 41 minutes and 40 seconds.
The run took contestants through Chongli’s beautiful landscape scenery featuring mountains and forests.
Street dances, waist drum and basketball performances were staged in the interim to spice up runner experience.
The event is the first leg of a philanthropic running tour supported by China Philanthropy, which was established by the Bank of China to publicize and promote public welfare programs.
