Import expo opens permanent exhibition platform
A vending machine sells fresh coconuts with cute Mickey Mouse-themed packaging, an unusual commodity now available for purchase at the Orient International Import Country (Region) Communities Center in Shanghai.
The center, as part of the first batch of the "6 days + 365 days" permanent exhibition and trading platforms of the first China International Import Expo, opened Tuesday after a five-month trial operation.
The first phase of the exhibition center, with an open area of 1,000 square meters, is divided into six exhibition areas: Europe, America and Asia, Australia and New Zealand, fashion, home furnishings and theme activities, and one retail experience area.
Over 100 brands from more than 30 countries and regions are on display at the center.
The center supports simultaneous online and offline updates on the display of brands and products. Consumers can buy goods directly at the retail area and also order them online to enjoy home delivery service.
