SunGod Great Wall launches new wine selection
As the Chateau SunGod Great Wall’s chief winemaker, Michel Rolland launched his selection Cabernet Sauvignon dry red wine 2012 on Oct 13 in Beijing.
Born in 1947 in France, Rolland is a Bordeaux-based oenologist who consults for wineries from all over the world and has been working with SunGod Great Wall since 2011.
The newly launched 2012 selection are directed by Rolland from the grape selection to fermenting process. He chose the 34-year-old cabernet sauvignon vine as the raw material, and the wine was released after 24 months in oak barrels and 12 months in bottles.
“SunGod aims to bring the high quality Chinese wine to the world, and I think my winemaking team in SunGod can make more world-class wines in the future,” said Rolland.
Wang Qi, executive vice-president of China Alcoholic Drinks Association, said the appetite for high-quality wines in Chinese market will grow in the future, and SunGod Great Wall has become a representative of Chinese chateau wine.
“Mr Rolland is an ambassador in connecting Western wine and Eastern wine, and wine is becoming the new bridge to promote the cultural communication between China and France,” said Wang.
