A drone that could save your life
Meet NET Guard, the drone that's been designed to save people from burning buildings. Designed by a group of students in Guangzhou, China NET GUARD uses a self-driven UAV drone to rescue people from high-rise buildings that are on fire.
NET GUARD works by receiving a distress signal along with a GPS pinpoint of the location of the fire. Once close enough to the building, the drone unfolds into four propeller-powered parts, deploying a safety net pulled tight in the center.
