Tan Yu explores fish in three new Beijing locations
Tan Yu, a massively popular specialty grilled fish restaurant chain has opened three new outlets in Beijing this month.
It comes as little surprise that the three new branches have already garnered a strong following, despite only being open for a few weeks given that the restaurant, which originated in Shenzhen in 2013, has grown to include more than 200 chains in more than 70 cities across China, plus one overseas branch in Singapore.
In line with Tan Yu’s other outlets, the three Beijing locations feature a nostalgic and jocular décor, with cool cartoon typefaces, murals on the walls and retro styled furniture on display.
At a time when the Spring Festival travel rush is about to get underway, the newly opened eateries in Beijing are offering a free tasting menu for diners who can provide a return ticket for either a bus, train, or plane during the peak travel season known as chunyun.
