The exhibition also juxtaposes the calligraphic works with several classical Chinese paintings from the museum's collection that feature auspicious symbols and festive themes.
A highlight is the intricate landscape painting, Pine Tree and Cranes, by Italian missionary Giuseppe Castiglione (1688-1766), who served in the Qing Dynasty (1644-1911) court.
