British duo prepare for 3-city tour of China
The band released their first two EPs, Warm on a Cold Night and All in the Value, in 2014. A year later, they released their third EP, Coastal Love and gave a sold out show at Electrowerkz in London. In 2016, they released the debut studio album, Warm on a Cold Night, which brought them to Asia for the first time.
Before Honne started their second album, Love Me / Love Me Not, the two members sat down and discussed where they wanted to go with the music and production.
"We wanted it to be more upbeat and day-time in feel than the previous album, with more of a focus on strong, hip-hop influenced beats. From there we both started writing instrumentals and then Andy adds lyrics and melody," says Hatcher. "But we also decided that we wanted to explore collaborating with other artists and producers. A lot of them were people we'd come into contact with over the previous couple of years, playing festivals and shows etc, or linked up with on twitter or instagram."
"Our ultimate goal as a band is to always be creative. We want every album, or EP, or mixtape we release to be different to the last and unique and recognizable in their own right. We want to keep pushing ourselves to write better music and make our shows and productions bigger, better and more creative," he adds.
