Central China province trade volume with Belt & Road countries rises in Q1
ZHENGZHOU - Central China's Henan province has seen a foreign trade volume of 21.89 billion yuan ($3.25 billion) with countries along the Belt and Road in the first quarter of 2019, according to local customs office Thursday.
The figure marks a year-on-year increase of 1.7 percent, said Zhengzhou Customs.
During the past three months, its trade with countries along the Belt and Road in March was recorded at 7.83 billion yuan, up 32.5 percent year-on-year.
Privately-run enterprises in Henan have also seen a rising trend in trade with countries along the Belt and Road this year with a trade volume of 11.01 billion yuan, an increase of 26 percent from the previous year.
Trade with ASEAN countries totaled 11.29 billion yuan, accounting for over half of the province's total trade volume.
Since 2013, Henan has seen a continuous increase in trade volume with countries along the Belt and Road with the average of annual growth being over 10 percent, according to customs.
