Infrastructure forum to open in Macao in late May
The 10th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum will take place on May 30 and 31 in Macao, aiming to promote quality and sustainable infrastructure, the organizers said on Tuesday.
The two-day forum, abbreviated as IIICF, will be hosted by the China International Contractors Association and Macao Trade and Investment Promotion Institute.
The event, with a theme of Promoting Quality and Sustainable Development of International Infrastructure, will have 36 seminars and panels, Fang Qiuchen, chairman of the contractors association, said.
The forum will offer invaluable insights and help boost quality and sustainable infrastructure, he said.
As of Tuesday, 41 minister-level officials from 31 countries and regions confirmed their attendance, as well as many executives from international financial institutions like the World Bank and Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, according to Fang.
In addition, over 1,630 representatives from companies including equipment manufacturers and consulting firms confirmed plans to attend the event, Fang said.
The forum serves as an important platform to exchange strategic insights, explore opportunities and seek collaborators in promoting infrastructure cooperation. The Ministry of Commerce approved the establishment of the event in 2010.
The fifth China and the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States Infrastructure Cooperation Forum will open at the same time.
