Forum encourages online broadcasters to 'tell the Asian story'
The "Dialogue on Asian Internet Audio-Visual Broadcasting Policy and Release of Cooperation Results", was held in Beijing on May 16.
It was a supporting activity of the Forum on Global Influence of Asian Civilizations, which was one of the six parallel forums of the "Conference of Dialogue on Asian Civilizations".
Gao Jianmin, vice minister of the National Radio and Television Administration of China gave a speech at the event, saying that the internet is gradually becoming the birthplace of modern human thought and future civilizations.
He suggested that people in Asia should explore the Asian-style internet audio-visual broadcasting concept to tell the Asian story and to enhance mutual learning of internet audio-visual broadcasting between Asia and the world.
A report on the development and management of Asian internet audio-visual broadcasting was released by the development and research center of National Radio and Television Administration during the event.
China Central Television Plus signed separate cooperation agreements with Sweden's news broadcasting app, Newstag, and Dutch online video company, Zoomin TV after the report's release. Meanwhile, Alibaba Media & Entertainment Business Group's Youku and Singaporean digital broadcaster, Starhub also inked a cooperation deal.
