Diantaixiang serves up sole food
Chongqing-style hotpot restaurant Diantaixiang celebrated its one-year Beijing anniversary in July. The soup base is the key to the hotpot, which is from a secret recipe that mixes different types of chilies that owner and chef Tang Yi spent three years learning from a hotpot master. The popular restaurant, known for its long queues, has also launched a jointly-designed shoe in collaboration with Norman Walsh. Diners who visit the eatery while wearing the shoes can skip the interminable lines.
