China World Trade Center marks anniversary
China World Trade Center marked its 35th anniversary on Friday, and staff members performed at the event.
As part of the celebrations, Gao Yan, the chairman of China World Trade Center, donated 8 million yuan ($1.12 million) to Shiya Primary School in Changning county, in Sichuan province, whose campus was badly destroyed in an earthquake in June.
In last 35 years, CWTC has donated more than 13 million yuan to various charities. And it closely works with the China Development Research Foundation to donate to schools in impoverished mountain areas in west China.
A Beijing landmark, CWTC, built in 1985 in the Central Business District, locally known simply as "Guomao". It is a world-class international business service center consisting of hotels, offices, apartments, exhibition spaces and a shopping mall.
