Travel players target health tourism in China
Domestic travel industry players and professional buyers from 12 countries and regions were looking for opportunities at the Beijing International Health Tourism Expo held over August 30-Sept 1.
The expo is an initiative by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and was launched in 2017.
"The country has paid great attention to health tourism development in recent years," says Song Qihui, a senior official from the ministry. And the State Council has issued directives to encourage health and medical tourism development across the country, Song adds.
This year's event covered an area of 13,000 square meters and featured eight zones, including leisure, therapy, food and destinations.
At the event, visitors could get access to the latest health tourism products at home and abroad and experience on-site health services such as traditional Chinese medicine.
