Over 200 works showcased during Beijing Documentary Week
The 3rd Beijing Documentary Week set a record for attendance with 30,000 visits, a 50 percent surge over the previous year, according to the organizers.
The event, which ran from Aug 23 to 29, was held in downtown Beijing's The China Millennium Monument and also saw the release of quality documentaries on streaming sites like iQiyi, Tencent Video and Bilibili.
While the exhibition showcased 201 works from nearly 100 companies and organizations, the streaming sites attracted more than 12 million views online and sparked over 2 million posts on social media websites.
The event's market section, a platform for documentary trade, saw six deals signed during the week, with a total a value of 243.5 million yuan ($33.9 million).
The event ended with the film, Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, a 70-minute documentary, which followed the construction of the bridge's last section.
