SOFIA -- A book on the 55 China's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, written in Bulgarian language, was presented in the building of the Union of Bulgarian Journalists (UBJ) here on Wednesday.

The book, written by Ding Hao, a journalist in the Bulgarian section of China Radio International, was published by the Bulgarian company Entropi-1 with the assistance of the Chinese Embassy in Bulgaria on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Bulgaria.

The purpose of this book was to help the Bulgarian people better acquainted with the Chinese culture and the world cultural heritage in China, said Chinese Ambassador to Bulgaria Dong Xiaojun at the presentation ceremony.

Meanwhile, quoting the ancient Chinese proverb "it is better to see something once than to hear about it a hundred times," the ambassador welcomed more Bulgarian friends to visit China and see the changes in China with their own eyes.

In a video message, the author of the book said that cultural and natural landmarks are a bridge between past, present and future.

He hoped the book would contribute to the further development of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of the two countries.

Stanislava Pekova, manager of Entropi 1, added that the book is a beautiful, aesthetic tale of China with a magical atmosphere, and shows the splendor of globally recognized sites.

At the same time, the information could help tourists travel to this attractive country, Pekova said at the presentation, which was also attended by Snezhana Todorova, president of UBJ.

Rosalina Evdokimova, a journalist at the UBJ website, said she was lucky to be one of the first readers of this book. It fascinated her wild interest in mysterious China, she said.
