"Belated Confession," narrating a story about a veteran's devotion to poverty reduction, is set to be screened nationwide from Oct 17, the sixth National Poverty Relief Day, said the China Film News.
The film portrays Yu Mu, who after retiring from the military, volunteers to work in an impoverished mountainous village to help the locals rid themselves of poverty, the Beijing-based newspaper said.
A joint production by two private filmmakers and the China Poverty Alleviation magazine, the film reflects the growth of young people in the process of dedicating themselves to the ongoing poverty reduction campaign.
