Over 100 professionals attend ASEAN Media Roundtable in Beijing
This year marks the China-ASEAN Year of Media Exchange, and the second ASEAN Media Roundtable was held in Beijing on Oct 31 by CCTV Video News Agency and People's Television Network from the Philippines.
Over 100 people working in media from 30 countries, including 19 from ASEAN countries, took part in the roundtable to discuss the role of media in promoting China-ASEAN community of shared future and how to enhance the international influence of media.
Teng Yunping, chairman of CCTV Video News Agency, said China has cooperated with ASEAN media through using shared content, making programs together and exchanging staff members.
Julio O. Castillo, chairman of the board of directors of People's Television Network in the Philippines, said the roundtable will strengthen the cooperation between China and ASEAN countries, and stressed the importance of new media in the development of ASEAN's media.
CCTV Video News Agency also signed an agreement with Thai media conglomerate MCOT to provide news material from China to Thailand.
