China to continue opening-up process despite obstacles, says Xi
China will make further efforts to expand the opening-up process despite obstacles set by others and any difficulties that may lie ahead, President Xi Jinping said on Friday.
Xi made the remarks while meeting with foreign representatives at the 2019 New Economy Forum at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
The reform and opening-up process of the past four decades has brought confidence for the Chinese people, he said, and it is the route that China must take.
China will continue to follow the path of reform and opening-up in spite of obstacles being set deliberately by others, he added, and any such obstacles and difficulties will make the country more determined to boost opening-up.
The country will never chant empty slogans, he added, stressing that China will fulfill its commitments and keep its promises.
Cooperation through the Belt and Road Initiative has already achieved fruitful outcomes, he said, and its win-win cooperation will not be slowed down, but will in fact promote further in the right direction.
