Reflect on the world and nominate Word of the Year
In the past 12 months of 2019, some international events must have caught your attention that made you sad or hopeful, that set your blood racing. Whether it's a disaster or a triumph, a scandal or a celebration, the past gives us inspiration for the future.
What is the one word in your view that captures the global mood of the past year? What do you reflect on 2019 and what do you want to embrace in 2020?
Write down your answer and explain why. We will nominate five words, from which our readers will vote to reveal the one that will be China Daily app's 2019 Word of the Year.
How to participate:
1. Send your answers by Dec 10
2. Voting will start on Dec 13 and remain open until Dec 20
3. Final result will be announced on Dec 23
4. Grand prize will be awarded to the participants whose nomination is voted as China Daily app's Word of the Year
The ultimate prize is a copy of An International Debate on the Intellectual Situation of Our Time (《我們時(shí)代的精神狀況》) translated into Chinese. This book brings together 15 leading thinkers from around the world to discuss international issues, and it is going to be published in 15 languages in different countries.
