Zhenjiang signs tourism deals in Beijing
Eastern Jiangsu province's Zhenjiang has signed deals for 12 tourism projects in Beijing on Dec 11.
The projects are worth 1.6 billion yuan ($227.3 million) and will receive the Zhenjiang government's support to become new highlights in local tourism and cultural development.
The idea is to upgrade Zhenjiang's appeal as a tourism destination, according to Pan Zaoyun, vice-mayor of Zhenjiang.
To date, the city has developed nine new experiences for travelers, including folk culture and distinctive gourmet food at its Tianmiao tourism resort as well as ancient architectural charm at its Xinhejie resort.
The city is known for its rich red tourism culture. More than 450,000 tourists paid visits during this year's National Day holiday, up 3.1 percent compared with the same period last year.
