In his political platform, issued during the campaign, Ho pledged to make efforts to push forward administration reform, improve public management, boost people's livelihoods, cultivate more talent and develop cultural cooperation. The government will also invest more in infrastructure and increase the supply of housing to better meet the people's needs.

He said Macao will also maintain close coordination with the central government, which he said is another key factor that has contributed to Macao's harmonious society.

Ho said the decision of the National People's Congress in October to authorize application of Macao SAR jurisdiction to Hengqin Port and adjacent areas fully demonstrated the central government's strong support for the integration of Macao into the overall development of the country. The move greatly promotes construction of the Bay Area, infrastructure connectivity and the smooth flow of personnel and goods between Macao and the mainland, he said.

"We hope the central government and all departments will continue to provide proper help to enable the Macao SAR to maintain prosperity and stability. Macao will also try its best to make greater contributions to the overall development of the country," he said.
