Chinese shares rally Tuesday
BEIJING - Major Chinese stock indices ended higher Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.67 percent, at 2,982.68 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.32 percent higher at 10,189.29 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 442.31 billion yuan ($63.08 billion), shrinking from 537.21 billion yuan in the previous trading day.
Most stocks rose, with gainers outnumbering losers by 1,315 to 147 on the Shanghai bourse and 1,929 to 215 in Shenzhen.
Companies in the sectors of electronics, hotel and communication service saw robust growth in share prices, with shares of Beijing Zhong Ke San Huan High-Tech Co Ltd rising by the daily 10-percent limit to 10.87 yuan per share.
Shares in agricultural service and real estate intermediary service led the losses.
The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.91 percent to close at 1,769.87 points Tuesday.
