Chinese shares lower at midday Tuesday

Chinese stocks ended lower in the morning session Tuesday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 2.00 percent, at 2,970.63 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.74 percent lower at 11,567.77 points.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, fell 1.96 percent to close at 2,219.51 points.
