WINDHOEK - The Namibia Football Association (NFA), in a statement Monday, suspended all football activities with immediate effect in the wake of the COVID-19 national directive by President Hage Geingob on Saturday, banning gathering to limit the spread of the pandemic.

NFA Acting Secretary-General Franco Cosmos said in line with that directive by Hage Geingob and from global and regional football governing bodies FIFA and CAF, "all qualification matches are canceled and even FIFA issued a directive that teams are not obliged to release players and the players are also not obliged to honor their call ups."

Cosmos added that their 2020 African Nations Championship participation decision is pending.

"We anticipate that by this week the CAF medical team will pronounce themselves after they have visited Cameroon recently and a decision will be made whether we go or stay," he said.
