Shanghai hospital honors medical workers who helped in Wuhan
"Many of you created history in the fight against COVID-19 and founded Chinese experience in the treatment of COVID-19. I am grateful for your contributions over the past months and your dedication will be remembered throughout history," said Ding Qiang, president of the hospital affiliated with Fudan University.
Each of the medical workers received a commemorative certificate, a medal carved with their names and a crystal souvenir.
Among the hospitals in China that sent a combined 42,000 medical workers to Hubei province, Huashan Hospital sent the largest contingent of doctors and nurses.
Of the medical workers from the hospital who were dispatched to the frontlines in Wuhan and Shanghai, 117 were members of the Communist Party of China. A total of 103 of them submitted applications to join the Party and 25 of them became Party members on the frontlines.
