2021 FIS Freestyle Ski, Freeski & Snowboard Championships launches marketing program

The marketing program for the 2021 FIS Freestyle Ski, Freeski & Snowboard World Championships was launched online on Monday.

Key attendees to the launching ceremony include Yang Dong, Deputy Director of the Winter Sports Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China, Guo Ying, Member of the Standing Committee of Zhangjiakou CPC Municipal Committee, Deputy Mayor of Zhangjiakou Municipal Government and the Executive Vice-President and Secretary-General of the 2021 World Championships Organizing Committee, Sarah Lewis OBE, Secretary-General of the International Ski Federation (FIS), Eddy Liu, Chief Executive Officer of Gemdale Sports, the global exclusive commercial partner for the 2021 World Championships and Marcus Kam, Chief Commercial Officer of Gemdale Sports.

FIS World Championships to be held in China for the first time brings significant opportunities for enterprises

The FIS Freestyle Ski, Freeski and Snowboard World Championships, a biennial FIS A-level event, is second only to the Olympic Winter Games. The 2021 FIS Freestyle Ski, Freeski & Snowboard World Championships will take place from 18th to 28th February, 2021, at two of the official competition venues of the 2022 Beijing Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games: Genting Secret Garden at Chongli District, Zhangjiakou City, of Hebei province neighboring Beijing and Shougang Industrial Park in Beijing. It serves as a key test event for the Beijing 2022 Olympic Winter Games, and is considered as the biggest in scale, the highest in competitive level, the longest in competition duration, and the highest number of competed disciplines.

The 2021 FIS Freestyle Ski, Freeski & Snowboard World Championships will be held for the first time in China and it is expected that more than 300 media and broadcasters from over 20 countries will descend upon Zhangjiakou to cover the event globally. The 2021 World Championships will serve as a great opportunity to demonstrate to the world the development achievements of China, Zhangjiakou City, and also enterprises partnering with it. It will become a catalyst to breakthrough geographical boundaries and cultural barriers, and create intimate bonding between its sponsors, spectators and viewers from all around the world.

As the exclusive global commercial partner for the 2021 World Championships, Gemdale Sports will act as an important bridge to connect brands and enterprises with this event as well as snow sports in China. Yang Dong, the Deputy Director of the Winter Sports Administrative Center of the General Administration of Sport of China said: "I believe that under the exceptional organization by the Zhangjiakou Municipal Government and the fabulous commercial development by Gemdale Sports, more and more brands and enterprises can become a part of this historical 2021 World Championships. Furthermore, I also believe that with the strong participation by Chinese enterprises within this World Championships will bring great success to the event and all of our commercial partners will benefit from the positive social and marketing results."

Sarah Lewis OBE, Secretary-General of the International Ski Federation (FIS), expressed her appreciation and gratitude to the event organizing committee and Gemdale Sports in the preparation of the event and believed that the 2021 World Championships will create significant impact on the development of winter sports in China, especially in snow sports. She also conveyed great expectations for the future of the sport. "We are very confident that the proven record of Gemdale Sports will bring the best brands and enterprises from China and around the world to support and be part of the 2021 World Championships and further enhance the celebration of the sport," she said.
