Life has been getting better for Hai Fugui, a villager in Northwest China's Ningxia Hui autonomous region, after he got employed by a local vineyard. The 38-year-old, who likes driving, learned about operating farm tractors at the vineyard and is responsible for plowing, weeding and spraying pesticides.

With his hard work and China's stepped-up poverty alleviation efforts, Hai has seen his salary increase. His income has tripled from what he earned before getting this job. His family of seven is heading toward a promising future.
