The 2020 Eco-Quadrathlon Open Tournament was held in Suqian, Jiangsu province on Sept 19. This was the eighth edition of the competition, designed to present and promote local tourism.

The competition has four components: swimming, kayaking, mountain biking and cross-country running. The previous edition was a 228-kilometer international race, and this year, the competition focused on 29-kilometer individual events and relay races.

Most participants were from Suqian or Jiangsu province.

The competition was held around Luoma Lake and Santai Mountain, showcasing the natural resources of Suqian. The competition also serves to promote ecological protection.

City mayor Wang Hao said he hoped the athletes can feel the beauty of nature during the competition, and become practitioners and conductors of ecological protection.

Wang said the competition is also a "wind indicator" showing life is getting back to normal after the pandemic.
