In late September, the Chinese embassy in Chile, together with the Confucius Institute at the University of St. Thomas in Chile, co-hosted an online photo exhibition with a seminar on the Forbidden City.

In order to offer a better experience, the pictures on display were made into 360° dynamic effects, and were accompanied by melodious background music, creating an immersive visual tour for the audience.

To support the exhibition, the University of St. Thomas also organized an online lecture on the famous Chinese landmark.

Cai Yunpeng, first secretary of the Cultural Office of the Chinese embassy in Chile, gave a general introduction of the Forbidden City with images. Chilean scholars and overseas students shared their visits to the Palace Museum with audiences online. Nearly 200 participants actively participated in the Q&A session of the lecture.

The pictures and the informative lecture were well received by the participants. This online event provides successful experience for the future online promotion of Chinese cultural and tourism resources.
