Ministers of China, Japan, South Korea and ASEAN countries discuss cultural policy

Zhang Xu, Chinese vice-minister of Culture and Tourism, attended the ninth Conference of China, Japan and South Korea Culture Ministers and the fifth Meeting of Cultural Ministers of China-ASEAN online on Oct 22.

During the 9th Conference of China, Japan and South Korea Culture Ministers, Chinese vice-minister Zhang Xu discussed China's response to the COVID-19 pandemic in the cultural field, and exchanged views with other parties on promoting cultural and artistic cooperation, further implementing the "Cultural City Network" and fostering more cultural talents.

Representatives from attending countries agreed to enhance experience-sharing and policy communication in the cultural field, laying a foundation for promoting cultural relations in East Asia after the pandemic.

At the fifth Meeting of Cultural Ministers of China-ASEAN, Zhang introduced China's cultural measures to combat COVID-19 and discussed enhancing the brand influence of the China-ASEAN Cultural Forum and fostering new growth points of China-ASEAN cultural cooperation.
