CIIE trading platform to reach more regions outside Shanghai
Orient International, a Shanghai-based enterprise focusing on manufacturing and services, planned to extend the services of the 365-day trading platforms for the China International Import Expo (CIIE) to more regions outside Shanghai, according to the company's senior official on Wednesday.
Initiated in 2018, the platform allows exhibitors at CIIE to display and sell their products all year long, besides the six-day expo period.
According to Tong Jisheng, president of Orient International, the company has established six sub-centers of the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center - one of the 56 365-day trading platforms in Shanghai - in cities like Zhejiang province's Hangzhou and Anhui province's Hefei.
"We expect to expand the scale to 41 cities in the Yangtze River Delta in the future as well," he said.
Shows on CIIE exhibits have also been held in other inland provinces and regions including Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region and Qinghai province across the nation, Tong added.
He said nine distribution centers for imported goods in Asia will be settled at the second phase of the Hongqiao Import Commodity Exhibition and Trading Center that is under construction. They will cover areas such as jewelry and luxury goods, healthcare and environmental protection, and imported technical services.
