Events kick off for Zhejiang culture and tourism week
Zhejiang province in East China will strive to promote global cultural communication and mutual learning despite the ongoing COVID-19 epidemic, according to Chu Ziyu, head of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, on Friday, as Chu attended the opening ceremony of the Picturesque Zhejiang Exhibition Week of Dynamic Zhejiang Culture and Tourism in Hangzhou.
The Picturesque Zhejiang Exhibition Week of Dynamic Zhejiang Culture and Tourism kicked off in Hangzhou, capital of East China's Zhejiang province on Friday in a bid to showcase the province's profound history and beautiful scenery to more visitors from around the world.
Nearly 100 foreign diplomats and international representatives were present at the opening ceremony, which was held at the Hangzhou Creative Design Center. More than 20 renowned Zhejiang artists and inheritors of intangible cultural heritage also attended the opening ceremony.
"Zhejiang and Mauritius have enjoyed a sound foundation for cooperation for a long time. I hope that we can work together to expand cooperation in tourism, culture and other fields in the future," said Alain Wong Yen Cheong, ambassador of the Republic of Mauritius in China.
The exhibition consists of five themed pavilions and visitors can enjoy the week-long exhibition through a variety of events, such as art exhibitions, on-site explanations by artists and live art performances, said Xu Peng, deputy director of the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
