'Detective Chinatown 3' continues to lead Chinese mainland box office
BEIJING - Detective Chinatown 3 continued to lead the Chinese mainland box office on Sunday, raking in more than 582 million yuan ($90.4 million), according to data from the China Movie Data Information Network.
Detective Chinatown 3 has dominated the Chinese box office since its debut on Feb 12.
Coming in a close second was time travel comedy Hi, Mom, which generated nearly 345 million yuan on Sunday, weakening the dominance of Detective Chinatown 3.
Ranking third was fantasy thriller A Writer's Odyssey, generating a revenue of about 73 million yuan on Sunday, and fourth was animated cartoon Boonie Bears: The Wild Life, pocketing over 56 million yuan.
China's box office revenue since the beginning of the week-long Spring Festival holiday on Feb 11 has exceeded 5 billion yuan, according to data compiled by Chinese movie-ticketing and film data platform Maoyan.
