Michael Kors celebrates 40th anniversary with streaming salute to Broadway
New York fashion brand Michael Kors celebrated its 40th anniversary with a show releasing the 2021 Fall/Winter collection on Tuesday. Entitled "Lights Up Broadway", the show at the Shubert Theatre in the heart of Broadway streamed on Michael Kors' official website and www.MichaelKors-Collection.com.
"My favorite art from is theater," the designer said before the show. "I'm pretty sure I've seen thousands of Broadway shows. There's no greater experience in the world than taking in a Broadway show. It's pure magic. It's not the show itself; there is the anticipation, meeting friends, surrounded by the iconic portraits and Broadway's most famous faces. Going to the theater, finding your seats, the lights going down… Honestly, even just talking about it makes me feel joy. So many of the incredible artists who make up Broadway have been devastated by the shutdown the pandemic has caused, so I'm here today to give back to a group of people who have given me so much, and we have been really struggling since COVID-19 began."
