Chen Zhifo (1896-1962) is known as a brilliant figure in the long-standing genre of flower-and-bird painting.
The National Art Museum of China in Beijing has collaborated with Nanjing Museum on an exhibition paying tribute to Chen's accomplishments, which preserved the style characterized by accurate brushwork and a vibrant palette.
Standing out from Three Centuries, running through May 9 at NAMOC, shows dozens of paintings from the collections of the two museums.
The exhibition shows Chen's transition in style, from elegance, tranquility and a scholarly touch to a matured feeling of majesty.
