Forum on telling China's stories in film, TV held in Beijing
The second Global Times Film & Television Cultural Communication Forum focused on telling Chinese stories through films and TV series was held on May 15 in Beijing.
"After more than two decades of efforts, the international spread of China's film and television culture has made much progress in creating content, channels and brands," said Yan Chengsheng, an official in charge of international cooperation under the National Radio and Television Administration. "In the face of new trends, tasks and challenges, we will provide more content and build more channels, actively make innovations and spread China's voices to more places."
A selection process for choosing artwork, broadcast platforms and artistic workers representative of China was also held during the forum, generating praise for dozens of directors, actors and broadcasting platforms for having model values in the new era.
Those named as "Influential Directors" were Dong Yachun, Kong Sheng, Zhang Yongxin, Shen Yan and Wang Wei. Meanwhile, Wang Liyun, Yu Hewei and Liu Mintao were honored as "Influential Actors".
