The past decade has witnessed the fast development of audiology and auditory rehabilitation industry in China, and the prospects for the sector are even more promising, said industry experts.

Wan Min, president of the Beijing Society of Audiology, said the audiology and auditory rehabilitation industry in China has been growing fast, whether in terms of the career paths and certification for industry professionals, intervention and rehabilitation of hearing-impaired children, or the development of the hearing service sector.

The industry is also building increasingly closer connection with the internet industry, as remote prescription, online training, and online marketing are becoming more popular while new capital, new channels, and new brands are also emerging, she said.

She made the remarks at the opening ceremony of the 2021 Beijing International Audiology Conference on Saturday, which was jointly organized by Beijing Association for Science and Technology and Beijing Society of Audiology at Beijing International Convention Center through Sunday.

The event, held both online and offline, has attracted more than 600 top academicians, medical specialists, and other professionals in the audiology sector from home and abroad, including famous experts from the United States, Australia, and Denmark.

The organizers said the event is expected to deepen academic exchanges and industry cooperation in the field of audiology, promote the growth of hearing rehabilitation industry, and improve people's wellbeing and health status.

More than 60 experts from home and abroad participated in seminars, lectures, and workshop on a variety of hot topics, and the exhibition of hearing industry held on the sideline attracted 39 top companies and organizations to display their latest products and innovations.
